St Kilda Pier, specifically the Breakwater area, is home to a colony of around 1,400 little penguins. The best time to see them is about 30 minutes after sunset. To get there from Melbourne CBD, you can take Trams 12, 16, or 96. When visiting, please stay on the designated boardwalks and keep a distance of at least 3 meters from the penguins to protect their habitat.
